Unsworth Vineyards Sauvignette 2018

Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaSauvignette is a proprietary name, used by the folks at Unsworth Vineyards. The single grape variety involved is epicure, a Blattner variety VB2 originally planted in Saanich in the late 1990s. The latest effort is classic northern, with a bright acidic frame supporting richer barrel ferment characters from spending five months on lees in neutral French oak barrels. On the palate there is a fresh mix of pear and citrus with creamy, light, almond notes and a crisp dry finish. I like this as an aperitif, and you can pair it with seafood sushi rolls or fresh cheeses.Tasted: 30 May 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
