Orofino Orange Skin Contact Muscat 2019

Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis packaging mirrors the colour of the tangerine hued skin-contact muscat, aptly named Orange. From Similkameen's Cawston Bench, this came from Hendsbee Vineyard and the Orofino Home Vineyard, and 12 - 30 year old vineyards. The parcels were co-fermented on skins for 30 days before a gentle press and run into older barrels for six months ageing on its lees. It is bottled without fining or filtration, and with minimal sulphites. Tight and grippy, finely stencilled with apricot peel, tangerine, anise, up against the grape's inherent plump and floral sweetness. Dry, full-bodied, and oily, with the aforementioned skin tannins adding a slight grip. It makes for an excellent food wine, including the likes of caramel chicken, or glazed pork belly.Tasted: 15 May 2020Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:
