Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSourced from Oliver and Summerland, this was wild fermented and aged in a combination of concrete, stainless steel, and foudre. If the Switchback Vineyard is about texture and restraint, this is more about the fruit. But don’t take that to mean it’s a simple, fruit salad style of pinot gris. This has a depth that far surpasses your average entry level gris, with nicely defined pear and white blossoms alongside pillowy lees. Okanagan bright and crisp, with crunchy pear, honey crisp apple, lemon peel, and white peach-scented with a desert scrub note. Lovely harmony in this 'entry' white label wine for Haywire. The ‘19 is ripe but still fresh with bright orchard fruit led by peaches and pears drizzled with orange. It is fully ready to drink and can take on lighter dishes like spicy tuna sushi rolls or spicy shellfish pasta.
