Haywire Pinot Gris 2019
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSourced from Oliver and Summerland, this was wild fermented and aged in a combination of concrete, stainless steel, and foudre. If the Switchback Vineyard is about texture and restraint, this is more about the fruit. But don’t take that to mean it’s a simple, fruit salad style of pinot gris. This has a depth that far surpasses your average entry level gris, with nicely defined pear and white blossoms alongside pillowy lees. It's fresh, lively, and approachable, but still with a level of seriousness. Nicely done and well priced.Tasted: 04 August 2021Tasted by: Prices:BC | $24.90 | 750ml | winery online, grocery, VQA and select private retailers |
