Haywire Gamay

Haywire Gamay 2018

Summerland, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSourced from Secrest Mountain Vineyard in Oliver, this gamay was partially whole cluster fermented before being aged for eight months in concrete. It combines juicy black fruits with gamay’s spicy, savoury side, including an attractive herbal, stemmy note. It's easy to think of gamay as an archetypal glou-glou wine, but that oversimplifies the variety's stylistic diversity. This wine is a classically structured expression with firm tannins, that you won't want to excessively chill. The result: a delicious, food friendly gamay that easily overdelivers at this price.Tasted: 30 May 2020Tasted by: Prices: BC 22.99 winery online, grocery, VQA and select private retailers Producer: Okanagan Crush Pad WineryDistributors: Trialto Wine Group
