Alvaro Palacios Camins del Priorat 2017

Priorato, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainThis blend of garnacha, cariñena, cabernet sauvignon, syrah, and merlot comes from 7 tiny villages in the mountainous Priorat region. The wine takes its name from the mostly restored camins of the region, the ancient pathways that connect the villages up and down the hillsides. The whole was fermented in stainless, cement, and large wooden vats. Savoury dark beauty, with salted black liquorice and anise streaming the long length of this wine. Wild cassis, wild raspberries, dried rosemary scrub, dark cherries are studded with cloves, riding a super mineral, schistous swell, plumped with sun and chiseled with licorella soils. Though a full bodied wine, the soils and altitude imbue a striking freshness. Beauty drinking now, and for years to come in your cellar.Tasted: 17 May 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
