Tantalus Riesling Lab Hard Pressings Experiment #09 2019

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Riesling Lab is a way for the team to experiment with their now-flagship grape each year. Here in version #09, winemaker Dave Patterson used the hard pressings of all the Riesling blocks separate, and fermented wild in old oak puncheons and barriques. They involved their visiting interns with trialling portions of the juice with various yeast strains and acidity / pH levels, combining the whole for 3 months on lees prior to bottling. A compelling story, and label, for this ever-changing wine, #09 is amply off-dry with baked yellow apple, pear gummies, candied mandarin and a dusting of light spice. Soft, easy, approachable, and fun, chill and crack this summer.Tasted: 27 April 2020Tasted by: Prices:
