Tantalus Pinot Noir Reserve 2017

East Kelowna Slopes, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaYear three of the Reserve Pinot Noir opens with earthy forest floor notes and a dry, restrained style. The foundation is a small, mid-slope block of Dijon clone 667 that is mixed with clone 115 from the property’s oldest vines. The blend is key to the reserve philosophy, one that pursues the best fruit for the wine every year. It has the best texture of their three pinot labels, led by intensity and silkiness. The palate is fresh, with florals, more earth, and mushroom, before a light blanket of tannins and sage dust kicks in. You can drink this now with mushroom risotto, glazed ham, or grilled pork, but it will certainly be enhanced by three to five years in the bottle. It clocks in at a very comfortable 13.8 percent alcohol by volume.Tasted: 27 April 2020Tasted by: Prices:
