Sperling Vineyards Pinot Noir 2017
East Kelowna Slopes, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom the Sperling family's East Kelowna estate, farmed biodynamically to best interact with the estate calcium/clay benches planted to French Dijon clones 114, 777, 828. 40 percent of the bunches are fermented whole and all of the wine is fermented to both alcoholic and malolactic dryness before being run into large French barrels, of which a small amount is new. 2017 isn't quite as charming as 2016, flashing brighter acidity and a thinner mid-palate. It's still very pinot with earthy, forest berries and a spicy, cherry, mushroom back end. Ready to drink.Tasted: 28 March 2020Tasted by: Prices:BC | $35.00 | 750ml | winery direct, private wine shops |
