Fine Disregard Sémillon 2017

Napa Valley, California, United StatesFine Disregard is a garagiste duo (spouses Mike Schieffer and Kara Maraden) seeking out interesting vineyards around Cali to make equally interesting low-intervention wines, like this sémillon. This comes from two parcels planted in alluvial soils at the base of the Vaca Mountains: one in Oak Knoll, and the other from the Oakville Bench vineyard. This was native fermented in barrel, with no MLF. Classic youthful sem here, with waxy honeysuckle, lanolin, heady white florals, and a dusting of talc, strung surprisingly taut at a smart 12.8 degrees. The finish is lemon bright and moreish. A lovely showing, and surprisingly so.Tasted: 04 April 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
