South Australia, AustraliaThe grapes for the 2018 Organic Shiraz come from four family owned, organically certified vineyards in Adelaide Plains, Loxton, Riverland, and McLaren Vale. Big, bold, and peppery, with cracked spices ruling ripe cassis, blackberry jam, velveteen perfumed violets, kissed with menthol and bound by lightly furry tannins. Acidity holds out to bring this to a respectable 13.5 degree finish. Best taken now, with grilled burgers or lamb / pork sausages.Tasted: 31 March 2020Tasted by: Prices:
South Australia, AustraliaWinemaker Heather Fraser does what I think a lot of woman winemakers do with syrah: they tame the wild edges and expand the palate using deliciousness. At only 13.5 percent, this vibrant organic red is a bargain and fun to drink. The grapes are sourced from four family-owned, organically certified vineyards: the Carypides family vineyard located at Virginia in the Adelaide Plains; the Barich Family Vineyard on the Murray River at Loxton; the Palena Family Vineyards near Barmera in the Riverland; and the Strachan Family Vineyard in McLaren Vale. Expect a bright wine with floral, violet, plummy fruit and soft spice. The winery suggests a Swiss brown mushroom burger with caramelized onions, and I say bring it on.Tasted: 16 March 2020Tasted by: Prices:
