Fitou, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceFitou is a wonderful style to embrace, and the Bertrand grenache/carignan is a prime example. The palate is lush and fleshy with round, ripe, vibrant red currant, cherry, and wild raspberry. When you can't take any more, a savoury garrigue undercurrent cuts in to freshen the finish. The texture is dense and persistent. Think earthy, warm, fall dishes when pairing. Super value but strangely not available in BC.Tasted: 26 August 2021Tasted by: Prices:
Fitou, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceGrenache and carignan fill the fleshy palate of this Fitou, flooded with ripe red currant, cherry, and wild raspberry, and based on an earthy, savoury, stemmy palate. Tannins are finely grippy / sticky, easily housing the perfumed, plumped fruit. Finishes lightly smokey and with a lovely wild plum perfume. Pour alongside roast pork.Tasted: 12 March 2020Tasted by: Prices:
