Gabriel Meffre Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc Cuvée Saint-Vincent 2018

Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FranceThis label has a history of being fresh, but in 2018 it is even more crisp and aromatic in a pleasing way. The mix is grenache blanc, roussanne, clairette, and viognier, with floral, herbal, peachy tones. I love the trace of lees and spice that livens up the palate, finishing with citrus, pear and peach. A refreshing dry summer white that is vegan friendly that offers super value. The select vineyard parcels are from two terroir profiles in Gard and Vaucluse. The former is from Gardois on clay and sand, while the latter, planted to roussanne and clairette, grows over limestone. Saint Vincent, born during the 3rd century in Spain, is considered the patron saint of winegrowers. Vincent means triumphant in Latin.
