Robin Ridge Organic PnG

Robin Ridge Organic PnG 2017

Keremeos, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPassetoutgrain, or throw it all in, sounds as much fun as this wine is to drink. PnG is a nod to the French blend of pinot noir and gamay, described by Punch magazine as 'the rhythm of Beaujolais and the soul of Burgundy'. It’s a gamay with an underbelly of softer, richer, darker fruit to infuse the wine with a bit of weight. But it is the Similkameen, so no need to worry that this wine will ever become overbearing. In this case, the floral, mineral, stony nose previews a figgy raspberry jam palate spiked with blueberries. The winery suggests serving it with grilled Italian sausage, and my mouth is watering. Simple, well-made, classy and ready-to-drink = my favourite combination. Good value too.Tasted: 22 February 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices: BC 23.25 winery online, select private retailers Producer: Robin Ridge WineryDistributors: Winery Direct
