Concha y Toro Marqués de Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Puente Alto, Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChilePrevious vintages I have tried were made in a jammy, Napa-inspired style, but the fresher fruit character and 13.5% listed abv in 2016 suggests a continued change in approach, as we first noted with the 2015 vintage. It’s still about dark fruits, but there’s a lovely herbal edge to the wine with oak that’s present but not overpowering. Medium-full bodied, this has lively acidity and firm, structured tannins that are true to the variety. Good value, it’s a wine to be enjoyed now or over the next five years.Tasted: 07 February 2020Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:BC | $18.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
