PortugalArinto dos Açores is a unique grape native to the Azores, unrelated to mainland Portugal's Arinto. These vines are planted in the rock cracks at the foothills of the volcanic mountain, almost touching the ocean. António Maçanita believes in the ageworthiness of this wine, so this is a library release, and in the future it will be an even later release date for the library. Lovely energy still, and freshness, even with a touch of waxy sheen from age. White honey, stones, long in the mouth, with a healthy touch of salinity on the end. Special to try this grape, descended from Verdelho, and earlier from Savagnin.Tasted: 02 June 2023Tasted by: Prices:

PortugalArinto dos Açores is a unique grape native to the Azores, unrelated to mainland Portugal's Arinto. These vines are planted in the rock cracks at the foothills of the volcanic mountain, almost touching the ocean. The vineyards are protected from the strong salty marine breezes by rock walls known as currais. Tight and crunchy with green apple, lemon pith, green hedge on a vibrant, mouthwatering palate, this rings of marine minerality, with the salinity lingering far after the last sip. Unique and characterful beauty.Tasted: 28 February 2020Tasted by: Prices:
