Olivier Leflaive Pommard 2014

Pommard, Côte de Beaune, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceI’ll admit that Pommard isn’t necessarily my go-to village in Burgundy, but this wine has me rethinking that. It combines a flinty reductive note with game, black raspberry, wild strawberry, underbrush, and integrated oak spice. It’s quite seductive and complex, constantly pulling you back into the glass. The palate is medium-bodied and structured with firm, slightly rustic tannins and fresh, integrated acidity. It’s approachable now, but it would be a shame not to revisit in 5 or 10 years from now.Tasted: 04 January 2020Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices: BC 105.00 Private liquor stores Producer: Olivier LeflaiveDistributors: Vino Allegro Wine Imports Inc.
