Dão, Northern Portugal, PortugalTasted 18 months along since my last 2016, and this little Dão white is showing beautifully. Based on 60-100 year old bical, encruzado, and malvasia, along with a smattering of other indigenous white grapes from Quinta da Lomba's granitic soils. This was native fermented in granite tanks before transfer to older 500L barrels for MLF and 20 months' rest, without bâtonnage. White peach, pear, quince is woven with meadow grasses, flax, and downy lees, lit with lemon peel, and studded with flake salts through the saline finish. Enjoy watching this unravel over the evening. Beauty now, and with time ahead.Tasted: 07 July 2021Tasted by: Prices:

Dão, Northern Portugal, Portugal60-100-year-old bical, encruzado and malvasia, along with a smattering of other indigenous white grape from Dao's granitic soiled Quinta da Lomba, make up this third edition of Conciso Branco. The wine fermented naturally in granite tanks before transferring to older 500L barrels to complete MLF and age for 20 months, without bâtonnage. Pear, green apple, wild lemon, white pear, yellow apple, flaxen lees, and hints of wood that plump the core, trailing off to a saline finish. There's a gently lifted acidity which brightens this branco, holding a lot of heft for a slight 11.5 degrees.Tasted: 08 January 2020Tasted by: Prices:
