Niepoort Conciso Branco

Niepoort Conciso Branco 2016

Dão, Northern Portugal, Portugal60-100-year-old bical, encruzado and malvasia, along with a smattering of other indigenous white grape from Dao's granitic soiled Quinta da Lomba, make up this third edition of Conciso Branco. The wine fermented naturally in granite tanks before transferring to older 500L barrels to complete MLF and age for 20 months, without bâtonnage. Pear, green apple, wild lemon, white pear, yellow apple, flaxen lees, and hints of wood that plump the core, trailing off to a saline finish. There's a gently lifted acidity which brightens this branco, holding a lot of heft for a slight 11.5 degrees.Tasted: 08 January 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices: BC 36.00 private wine shops Producer: Niepoort (Vinhos) S.A.Distributors: Vintage Corks Limited
