Kirkland Signature Cotes du Rhone Villages 2018

Côtes du Rhône Villages, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceThis Côtes du Rhône Villages comes from fruit rated one notch above Côtes du Rhône, or in this case, from around the slightly elevated land near the villages. The blend is a classic mix of syrah, grenache, and mourvèdre, made by local vintner Patrick Lesec. It’s all you could want for the money, and far more interesting than the Kirkland Cabernet at nearly 50% more money. The wine is medium-bodied with soft, round black fruit, a twist of licorice, spice, and garrigue, to a dusty liquorice finish. Ideal red to serve liberally around the barbecue.Tasted: 14 January 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
