Culmina Family Estate N˚ 006 Unfiltered ‘Jeunes Vignes’ Malbec 2016
Golden Mile Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaJeunes Vignes or young vines speaks to the age of the vines growing in the south Okanagan on Arise and Stan's Vineyards along the Golden Mile Bench. Post-fermentation, the juice is aged in neutral French oak for 22 months before it is bottled, unfined and unfiltered. It has a hint of Bordeaux styling with plenty of New World verve, including alluring wild black fruits, and bright floral undertones that buoy a richly-textured palate. Best of all is an undercutting of freshness that lifts this red from the glass. It will improve the age, but you can drink it now with grilled lamb.Tasted: 04 January 2020Tasted by: Prices:

Culmina Family Estate N˚ 006 Unfiltered ‘Jeunes Vignes’ Malbec 2016
Golden Mile Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOpposed to the Vielles Vignes you see on wine labels, indicating the wine's vine age, this proudly is Jeunes Vignes, young vines, reflective of the age of this malbec, from Arise and Stan's Benches on the Golden Mile Bench. It is matured in neutral French oak for 22 months, bottled unfined and unfiltered March 2019, and released at the end of 2020. Wild blackberry, cassis, is scented with a luring Saskatoon berry perfume and sided with dusky violet leaves, hugging a full palate. Tannins are plush, and acidity is charmingly grapefruit laced, brightening this hefty, southern Okanagan red and drinking well now, especially with grilled beef/lamb.Tasted: 01 March 2020Tasted by: Prices:
