Marcel Deiss Alsace Rouge 2018
Alsace, FranceRetasted 14 months later, and this lovely lighter pinot is exactly where it should be. This certified organic and biodynamic estate pinot noir (splashed with pinot gris and pinot blanc) comes from Alsace's Bergheim, St Hippolyte, and Beblenheim terroirs and their mix of limestone, flint, gravel and granite soils. After destemming, gentle maceration, and a native ferment, this continued to age one year in tank and barrel. Juicy dark raspberry, black cherry, tobacco, fragrant dark plum is etched with fine, grippy structural tannins, housing the medium palate to a very mineral-laden finish. Fresh, dark, and a little wild, this is a lovely take on pinot.Tasted: 27 January 2021Tasted by: Prices:ON | $37.95 | 750ml | consignment |
