Bench 1775 Cabernet Franc cl 214 2016
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaClone 214 is known for its aromatics, and planted on a cool east-facing slope (morning sun and afternoon shade) it opens with a refreshing earthy, cedar, peppery resin nose that spills onto a dry, firm palate. The fruit is medium bright, mixing plums with peppery graphite notes that devolve into a smoky, cedar, silky tannin finish. Spaghetti Bolognese works here, and so would a grilled pepper steak. Drink or hold through 2023.Tasted: 17 December 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $34.50 | 750ml | winery direct, private and VQA wine shops |
