Côtes du Roussillon Villages, Roussillon, Sud de France, FranceSix years down the road this wine remains as youthful as ever, showing little maturity and impressive power. The blend is syrah, grenache,, and carignan and the muscular red (at 15.5 percent alcohol, if not higher) is a mouthful. Expect a classic, smoked meat, liquorice, garigue scented nose that repeats on a stony, mineral palate, flecked with intense, ripe wild black fruits.
