Famille J-M Cazes Saint-Estephe 2015

St. Estèphe, Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Bordeaux, FranceThe J-M Cazes wines can be considered the third label of Pauillac powerhouse Château Lynch-Bages, and a claret meant for drinking now while you squirrel the other wines away. The property can trace its history back to the 16th Century, though it was renovated and modernised by the Cazes family in the 1990s. Jean-Michel Cazes' family has owned Lynch-Bages for decades now, so he's well practiced in all things Bx. This highly affordable claret overdelivers for the price, with chiselled dark cherry, graphite, gravels and an undercurrent of brooding black plum and violet. Tannins are smoothed and the finish is snappy, primed for drinking now. Primed for drinking now, while you wait for the family's other wines to mature (could be a decade ++).Tasted: 02 November 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
