CedarCreek Platinum Block 7 Single Vineyard Pinot Gris 2018
British Columbia, CanadaThe stony soils coupled with low vigour pinot gris vines in Block 7 has produced a ripe, round, and softer pinot gris, one with a dose of botrytis included in 2018. They decided to push the trend, leaving this at 35 g/l RS, which overwhelms the moderate acidity, green melon, baked pear and honey-washed fruit. The finish is short, and a little green / bitter edged, jarring against the sweetness on the palate.Tasted: 14 December 2019Tasted by: Prices:

CedarCreek Platinum Block 7 Single Vineyard Pinot Gris 2018
British Columbia, CanadaBlock 7 is stony, and the yields are low, leading to fruit with a much riper profile. Indeed, the fruit is intense and so is the sugar. The palate is heady with whiffs of botrytis, but at 35 grams/litre of sugar, it’s a bit overwhelming given its so-so acidity. Ripe, spicy, and earthy, but the sugar is cloying. Foie gras would be the obvious choice, or with smoky patés.Tasted: 14 November 2019Tasted by: Prices:
