Mission Hill Terroir Collection Vista's Edge Cabernet Franc 2017

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaDeep plum in the glass, you'll find a heady nose of smouldering dark berried fruit, vanilla-scented oak, and grilled herbs. The wine is muscular, intensly flavoured with black and blue fruit, creamy milk chocolate, and an espresso finish that speaks to 15 months in 25% new French oak. Glossy and impressive, with explosive fruit that is reigned in by Okanagan-brisk acidity and the streamlining effect it has on excess. Lengthy vinous finish has a dusty and oaky flair. Mission Hill's impressive Terroir Collection uses just the finest top three percent of all their fruit, and Vista's Edge vineyard is in the Okanagan's deep south, where west-facing slopes help cabernet franc ripen to concentrated perfection. Decant for half an hour, pour into your largest wine stems, and pair with herbed rack of lamb.Tasted: 31 October 2019Tasted by: Prices:
