Willakenzie Estate Pinot Noir 2016

Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesWillaKenzie is named after the sedimentary soil on which the estate is planted – a tribute to Oregon’s two major rivers, the Willamette and the McKenzie. WillaKenzie Estate Pinot Noir boasts 11 clones, reportedly the most in Oregon. 2016 is a mix of estate fruit from the Willakenzie Estate and Jory Hills Estate. The growing season was mostly typical, with only slightly elevated temperatures. The aromas and flavours are classic Willamette Valley with earth tones and forest floor mixed with savoury strawberry, raspberry, black tea. The texture is round and silky, the acid sufficient, and the tannins light and fine-grained. The fruit is destemmed before cold-soaking for approximately 5-7 days. This wine spent nearly one year in 25% new French oak barrels. Textbook Oregon and ready to drink.Tasted: 15 September 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
