Luigi Bosca Malbec 2016
Mendoza, ArgentinaA consistent performer, this edition comes from one of the coldest years ever in Argentina, and a humid one, but the result is very appealing. It's made with 50+ year old vines from the Finca La Linda vineyard, planted at 950m above sea level at Vistalba, Luján de Cuyo. In such a fresh year, it is the violets that set the tone. The attack is dry and smooth, with black cherry, cedar, tobacco, and a touch of brown spice. It spends a year in mostly new French oak, bringing a touch of sophistication to this robust red. Ageworthy, but you can drink now with a favourite beef dish or something like spaghetti Bolognese.Tasted: 12 September 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $23.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
