Luigi Bosca Finca Los Nobles Cabernet Bouchet Field Blend 2015

Las Compuertas, Vistalba District, Luján de Cuyo, Northern Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaDeep plum-hued in the glass with rich and seductive aromas of dried currants, brandied fruitcake, leather, dried rose petals and spice. There is a sticky herb note as well as a high-toned elegance. The first sip reveals potent juicy fruit: dark berries like black currants and rowan. Graphite and savoury laurel flavours are refreshed by wonderfully integrated and bright acidity, and the tannins are extremely fine grained, smooth and elegant, without any astringency. Overall very claret-like and stately. Fruit from an ancient vineyard of cabernet sauvignon and bouchet (which is an old name for cabernet franc) situated in a sub-zone of Argentina's Luyan de Cuyo at 1050 meters of elevation has been respectfully aged in oak barrels for two years, then bottled for 18 months to mesh. And harmonized it has, yielding a full-bodied, mellowing, graceful wine with the kind of complexity that comes from 90 year old vines. Decant for 30 minutes then serve with prime meat or aged cheese.Tasted: 13 September 2019Tasted by: DJ KearneyPrices:
