Helderberg Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
Stellenbosch, Coastal Region, South AfricaSourced from the Helderberg ward of Stellenbosch, this was fermented by a selected native yeast and aged in French oak barrels (30 percent new). It has a smokey nose with developing aromas of blackberry and currant as well as a sweet herbal lift. There’s a lot going on for the price, and it nicely combines ample fruit with that characteristic South African savouriness. Medium-full bodied, it’s mouthfilling with fresh acidity and a plush texture that finishes with a slight grip.
