G. D. Vajra Langhe Rosso 2017

Langhe, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyVarja's Langhe Rosso is a blend of younger vine nebbiolo, barbera, dolcetto, fresia, albarossa, and pinot noir, meant to give an overview of Piemonte's Langhe region. This is sourced from various vineyards, each variety vinified separately, fermented in stainless and then into French barrels from new to three years in age, for two years. Lovely earthy raspberry, wild blackberry, pure plum, ample dried florals, and dried tobacco on a medium-bodied palate, textured via finely grippy/nubby tannins and lofted with a rise of gentle acidity. The finish is striated with fine spices, graphite, and salty minerality. Tastes like Langhe, perfectly; mission accomplished.Tasted: 02 September 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
