Road 13 Syrah Malbec 2017

British Columbia, CanadaSyrah and malbec (79/21) may not make for a classic blend, but when you think about it, the combination makes a lot of sense. Both varieties have a number of similarities and they can be easy to confuse in blind tastings, especially in the new world. However, in this case it’s really the oak driving the bus, with lots of espresso and raw wood character. Otherwise, the fruit is ripe and jammy, topping in at 14.7% abv. A wine for the ‘big red’ crowd, but at a price that doesn't deliver exceptional value.Tasted: 07 February 2020Tasted by: Prices: BC 32.00 winery direct Producer: Road 13Distributors: The Bacchus Group Inc.
