Minimus Calera Chardonnay 2017
Chehalem Mountain , Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesFrom northern Willamette's elevated Chehalem Mountain AVA, this suitcase-transported calera clone chardonnay was planted by Dick Earth in 1968 on its own roots. This structural wine was aged in a mix of neutral and new oak for 16 months, prior to bottling unfined and unfiltered. Ripe but controlled, powerful but not heavy, this feels its new oak treatment now in youth, but has a couple of years to go to tame. Hints of reduction, wet stone preview apple, pear, lemon peel and verbena, with a cushion of downy lees, and a snappy finish. 30 cases made.Tasted: 08 August 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:ON | $55.95 | 750ml | consignment |
