Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis ambitious pinot noir starts quite assertively and powerfully with spiced cherry, dark plum and a generous amount of oak defining the aromas. The flavours are expansive with plenty of sweet red fruit, cocoa powder, nut husk and vanilla. Substantial tannins for pinot noir, plumping up the body, while warm alcohol spices up an emphatic finish of bold fruit and fine French oak. Two Naramata sites provide the fruit, well-ripened from a pretty warm vintage. Typical of BC pinot, brisk acids keep this wine nice and bright and food-welcoming.Tasted: 02 August 2019Tasted by: Prices:

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAs is the Laughing Stock way, this is a big, showy, in-your-face pinot, clocking in at 14.2 degrees declared, and feeling every bit of it. From two vineyards in Naramata, this was fermented whole berry in oak puncheon and stainless before 16 months aging in French oak (35% new). Soft, spicy and soupy, pouring a lightly bricking hue, this is filled with ripe raspberry, baked cherries, cinnamon and nutmeg, and crushed florals to a warming finish. Requires a chill, and some large meat to mitigate. Hopefully an earlier pick and lighter hand in the future, also.Tasted: 27 August 2019Tasted by: Prices:
