CedarCreek Platinum Block 9 Single Vineyard Ehrenfelser 2018
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaEhrenfelser has always been a hidden star at CedarCreek since way back. In 2018 it was deemed Platinum worthy by winemaker Taylor Whelan, and we agree. The fruit comes off the single, stony Block 9 vines that are now 13 to 16-years-old. 11 percent is fermented in neutral oak to add a smidgeon of texture to the predominately stainless steel tank and barrels, ageing for four months on its lees. The traditional honeysuckle, tangerine, honeydew, ripe pear, key lime flavours are all here, but it’s the subtlety that attracts. The sugar, acid and alcohol are perfectly balanced suggesting this might keep a few years under screwcap. Impressive.Tasted: 24 June 2019Tasted by: Prices:

CedarCreek Platinum Block 9 Single Vineyard Ehrenfelser 2018
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis year's Ehrenfelser was deemed Platinum worthy, coming off of their single stony Block 9, and 13-16-year-old vines. Eleven percent was fermented in neutral oak, with the remainder split between stainless tanks and stainless barrels. Four months on the lees provides texture and richness to the already concentrated grapes. Honeysuckle, tangerine, honeydew, ripe pear, key lime walks that fine line between sugar and acid, deftly balancing the 11 g/L RS with 8.1 TA, and held to a smart 12.5 degrees, leaving an impression of dryness and freshness. Orange lingers on the long finish. Impressive.Tasted: 18 July 2019Tasted by: Prices:
