The Prisoner Red Wine 2017
Napa Valley, California, United StatesThe Prisoner is the most recognized Napa Valley red blend proving once again; consumers love a name they can remember, especially if it is big, red and sweet. They don’t come much bolder at 15.2 percent alcohol by volume, and you sense all of it in the glass and the mouth. The blend is zinfandel mixed with cabernet sauvignon, petite sirah, syrah and charbono inspired by the field blends planted regions early Italian immigrants. Expect an intense explosion of cooked cherries, raisins and figs on the nose and palate. The finish is long and warm with black fruits reminiscent of fresh-baked blueberry or blackberry pie. Given the sweet-fruit flavours, we suggest pairing this with spicy ribs.Tasted: 27 June 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $59.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
