Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaQuotidien, or your daily ration, is a tradition I think every sparkling wine producer wishes their customers would adopt. This pleasant soft, 70/30 mix of riesling/chardonnay from east Penticton sites was matured in neutral puncheons on its lees over the winter and then mixed with some riesling that was ageing without sulphur. The second ferment was done in the Charmat tank and bottled with zero dosage. The wood ageing and low sulphur give this sparkler an unexpected richness, and gout Anglaise (mature) finish that all meshes with the Joiefarm style and goal to make food wines. Try this with several varied tapas before dinner.Tasted: 24 June 2019Tasted by: Prices:

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaQuotidien translates as daily ration, and references Joie's joie-de-vivre for drinking fizz, liberally. It is a mix of 70/30 riesling/chardonnay, the former from Naramata's Paxon Family Vineyards, and the latter from Skaha Bluff's Con Vida Vineyard. The blend was aged in neutral puncheons on the lees over the winter, before getting a hit of a solera riesling that has been maturing without sulphur. A pied de cuve Champagne yeast and bump of sugar kicked off a second ferment in the charmat tank. It was bottled with zero dosage. The vinification, extended wood ageing, and addition of solera gives it a richness beyond the normal charmat method. Lemon, pear, toasted meringue, apple brioche is all kept snappy and lemon pith tight with the zero dosage.Tasted: 18 June 2019Tasted by: Prices:
