Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaThis inexpensive gem is 100 percent Uco Valley malbec handpicked at the end of April. The ferment and maceration lasted just over 25 days, and a portion of the wine is aged in older oak. The nose is classic Zuccardi, red-fruited and fresh, evoking cherries, plums and blackberries. The tannins are subdued, but support the finish, bright with flecks of black licorice. Serious yet simple stuff that overdelivers for the price.
