Gérard Bertrand Château de Villemajou Grand Vin Blanc 2018
Corbières, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceVillemajou Blanc has a deep yellow colour, but don’t let that scare you. Just inhale the warm Mediterranean floral aromas of slate, nectarine, quince, almonds, and a dusting of garrigue. The wine is similarly full-flavoured and mouth-filling with honeyed, waxy lees, citrus and pear, and just enough acidity to keep it interesting. The property is in Corbières, and along with ancient carignan vines, there are plantings of grenache blanc, and grenache gris, roussanne, marsanne and vermentino, each picked separately and barrel fermented and aged for seven to eight months.Tasted: 22 April 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $50.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
