Champagne Rémi Leroy Extra Brut NV

Côte des Bar, Champagne, FranceBased in the Aube, which shares the same Portlandian and Kimmeridgian limestone soils as Chablis just further south, young Remi farms 3 of his family's organic 9 hectares under this label; the rest of the grapes are sold to large champagne houses. This Extra Brut, his largest production wine at 25K bottles / year, is based on 2022, with approximately 20% reserves. The blend is 70% pinot noir, 20% pinot meunier, 10% chardonnay, primarily fermented in stainless, with full MLF, with 20% in older wood. This spent 2 years sur lattes, and was disgorged with 2 g/L dosage in spring 2024. Tart green and red apple, toasted brioche is cut with lemon acidity, and clouded with an oxidative haze. I feel this bottle isn't the freshest from shipping, so will look to retaste in future.Tasted: 23 November 2025Tasted by: Prices:
