Blue Mountain Chardonnay 2017
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWhen you are slogging through some fairly mundane chardonnay, it's always a pleasure to come across wine appropriately made such as this vibrant toasty, buttery regular label Blue Mountain. Actually, it is not so ordinary, from its five clone blend to its aged (11-28-year-old) estate vines. The attack is broader than 2016 thanks to the use of foudres to build texture and creaminess, and a higher percentage of malolactic fermentation. Lemon curd, flowers, smoked pears and apples mark the flavour favourably. Think creamy pasta or chicken dishes now.Tasted: 07 March 2019Tasted by: Prices:BC | $20.90 | 750ml | winery direct, private wine shops |
