Stonestreet Estate Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe estate cab is a blend of the best vineyard sites illustrating the nature of mountain sites. Winemaker Lisa Valtenbergs makes the wine mixing and matching aromas and texture with some obvious Mayacamas’ structural elements. The attack is savoury and raw at this point, with minty plummy raspberry fruit and firm tannins. The palate is relatively supple, with long, linear flavours and tannins and a bittersweet chocolate/coffee finish. Needs time in the bottle to unwind and gather itself. The fruit is grown between 400 to 2,400 feet above the valley floor, some 76 miles north of San Francisco and 23 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean.
