La Crema Russian River Chardonnay 2017

Russian River, Sonoma County, California, United StatesThere is always an expectation that Russian River fruit will be a little more intense than the norm but when it’s in balance, it really hits the mark. It’s not Burgundy, but then Burgundy is not Russian River. The palate is awash in intense Meyer lemon and nectarine notes with a creamy lees adjustment to keep it on track to a moderately ripe finish, lingering with ripe tangerines, honey and a nutty lees. Again, it’s more new world chardonnay than Euro but it finishes balanced and vibrant. Ready to drink now with baked halibut, mahi mahi, or as the winery suggests, with risotto primavera and brown butter scallops.Tasted: 02 February 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
