Kendall-Jackson Jackson Estate Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir 2017

Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir is a new acquisition for the Jackson Estate lineup. The Cloud Landing Vineyard is planted to a mix of clones including 21 percent Calera, 36 percent 667 and 43 percent 777. The limited release pinot is a spice bomb reflecting its unique Petaluma Gap site that was established as an AVA in 2018. The 18-mile opening in the California coastal range, between Sonoma and Marin Counties, acts as a wind tunnel, pulling marine fog in off the coast, cooling anything in its way before spilling into the San Pablo Bay. The persistent winds and cool climate produce smaller berries and slightly thicker skins, and eventually a richer, full-blown style of new world pinot. The style is savoury with spicy red and blue fruit with a dusting of toasted oak. This pinot can take on most pork or chicken dishes, or a rich grilled wild salmon.Tasted: 02 February 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
