Laposa Kéknyelú 2017
Badacsony, HungaryKéknyelű is an ancient and rare Hungarian grape variety, which remains solely in Badacsony today. Translating as 'blue Stalk' this indigenous grape is difficult to work with, though Laposa has risen to the challenge, and is acknowledged as a master of this grape. This kéknyelú is from 25-year-old basalt-grown vines, sourced from three hillside vineyards. It opens with piercing, potent apricot oil, white grapefruit pith, tight flinty spicing that wraps around a coil of peach, pear, and white cherry, and finishes with warming gingerale and a dry extract grip.Tasted: 11 January 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:Hungary | $16.30 | 750ml | Hungary |
