Dão, Northern Portugal, PortugalThis structural, brooding wine blends touriga nacional, tinta roriz, alfocheiro and jaen (averaging nine years vine age) after foot tredding in lagares, 24 months in concrete and an additional ten months in bottle prior to release. Dark plum, cassis, wild roses are housed by firm, fine tannins and carry a welcome 13 degrees. You can feel some warmth here from grape hang time, though it is very well balanced off against fresh acidity.
