Bannockburn Vineyards Pinot Noir 2016

Geelong, Victoria, AustraliaBannockburn was amongst the first to plant vineyards in the Geelong region, and now farm hectares of vines situated on three separate sites within their home estate. This is sourced from plots, blending clone MV6 with 114, 115 and 777, planted in 1976, 1997 and 2007. Native fermented, and 20 percent whole bunch, this spent 15 months in hogshead barrels, 20 percent new, before bottling. Proper autumnal, with forest floor, smoked cedar, bough, ripe raspberry tightened by sour red currant acidity, and lined with a cherry leather palate. Tannins are cocoa dusted and fine. Lovely elegant pinot of place.Tasted: 25 January 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
