Township 7 Viognier Raju Vineyard 2017
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThere a new winemaking regime at Township 7 and this wild fermented viognier (30 per in new oak, the balance in stainless steel) is a good example of the move to fresher, brighter wines of origin. A single vineyard, in this case ‘Raju,’ located in the in Osoyoos area, but only classified Okanagan Valley, is the best sub-app because it’s impeccably defined, if unaudited, but I digress. The nose is suitably fresh and aromatic with floral jasmine flecked with honeysuckle, peach and apricots, all sprinkled with brown spices. Best of all it’s svelte as opposed to fat and that makes it more appealing to drink with food.
