Luke Lambert Yarra Valley Nebbiolo 2016
Yarra Valley, Victoria, AustraliaPouring a delicious cloudy orange brick hue, this is one of the rare nebbiolos that excels as an expat from its native Piemonte. It comes from the rocky and granitic Denton vineyard in the hills of Yarra Valley, was destemmed and fermented wild on skins for 20 days and matured in large old oak before being bottled without fining or filtration. Worn cherry, leather, cured sweet salamis, hints of rose petals ride a slight, firm body that belies its 14 degrees. Tannins are fine, grippy, and appropriate for solo sipping or your best charcuterie platter. Darker than the '15, but just as fresh, this is a revelation.Tasted: 08 November 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $70.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
