Synchromesh Turtle Rock Farms Tertre Rouge 2014

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThough Alan Dickinson and Synchromesh is legend for riesling, they also produce high quality reds, like this blend of merlot and cabernet franc from Naramata's Turtle Rock Farms, a site resting on an ancient lakefront. This is a brooding, dark, deep, plunging blend of 55 merlot / 45 cabernet franc (the latter whole cluster), with heady wild blackberry, spearmint and dark chocolate. This muscular and elegant (think ballerina) red spent twenty months in 45 percent new wood, bottled without fining or filtration, and then two years in bottle pre release. Drinking beautifully now, and cellar worthy.Tasted: 15 October 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
